Cornhole rules

Equipment: two boards and 8 bags, 4 per team different color, 4 blue 4 red.

Type of board/specs:

Boards will be 24” x 48” of ½” plywood, front 2 ½ high, to 12” behind board. Board can be sanded smooth or painted/finished in a semi-gloss,” very smooth finish”. This will allow the boards to let the bags slide but not slide down the board.

Boards are placed 27ft from front edge to front edge. Games will be played to 21 points.

Type of bag / specs:

Made from two fabric squares at approximately, 6.25made from a fabric that is durable. Weight 14-16 ounces of corn or plastic pellets.

Pitching box. Foul line is defined as the front of the box. Player cannot step passed that line.

Cornhole – Refers to any cornhole bag that has been pitched and passes through the cornhole board hole at any time within the

frame. Each cornhole is 3pts.

Woody: Refers to any cornhole bag that has been pitched and remains on the cornhole board playing surface at the conclusion of the frame, each woody is 1 point. A bag that comes to rest touching the ground and the board doesn’t count as a point.

Cancellation Scoring: The approved method of scoring for the sport of cornhole is “cancellation” scoring. In cancellation scoring, the points of one player cancel out the points of their opponent. Using this method, only one player/team can score in each frame.

Fouls: If player crosses foul line if the bag and the bag is not released when stepping out of line/over foul line. Any bag not released within 25 seconds.

Both players play one board at a time, and stay in their designated lane for the whole game (right or left).

Players start the game at board 1 and alternate pitching bags until each player has pitched all (4) of his/her bags.

Players on the other end of the lane take score and then resume the game by pitching back to the other cornhole board.

Players must deliver the bag with an underhand release.

Feet must stay behind the line of the front of the board at the time of releasing the bag.

The player/team who scored in the preceding frame pitches first in the next frame. If neither player/team scores, the player/team who pitched first in the preceding frame shall retain first pitch in

the next frame.

If bags become piled inside the cornhole board hole and may interfere or obstruct with the next pitch or if there is question whether a cornhole bag would have naturally fallen through the hole, a player

may request to “rake” the cornhole bags that have fallen inside the hole.

Respect for players: no distracting, insulting, curing at, acting hostel towards players or anyone on the grounds. The Cornhole management of referees may disqualify you and ask you to leave the grounds. Any such action will lead to termination for the club/association without refund of yearly processing fee. The Club reserves the right to remove a member who is cause of any type of negative issues. Please follow grounds rules as posted.
